National Morel Mushroom Festival


(Motion 3D)

(event branding, Cinema 4D, After Effects, vectors)

Content: I don’t even like the taste of mushrooms, but I adore the aesthetic of them. For this project, we were to pick any event (or make one up) and create a promotional video for it. One of the requirements was the event had to have a digital presence (or one made up). I chose the mushroom festival in Boyne City, MI. I have never been to this event but do enjoy mushroom hunting so I would sure love to go! This piece was made to showcase the different events that happen at the mushroom festival and are free to the public. I gathered inspiration from. organic forms, typography and color swatches. 
Process: For this project, my ideation began by hand and moved into a virtual space. I started by finding footage of the actual event, and some footage that could be apart of it. I made the morel seminar a hybrid event (it’s actually only in-person), while also campaigning for a small business seminar (which doesn’t actually exist). 

Takeaways: This project helped me understand how much work truly goes into 3D animation and just how difficult it can be to create a piece with 2D and 3D renders. I did really enjoy this project because I didn’t have to follow a specific guideline for the events look and feel.
