Generation (Good Done Daily) (non-profit, publication design, collage, illustration, Indesign) Content:&nbsp;Z to Z: Conversations of a Generation was curated by a multi-generational team of over 1,000 teen story contributors, two dozen young writers and artists, and a village of editors and creative professionals worked to bring this to life. The year of 2020, major events began from the pandemic, politics, racial injustice, natural disasters, vaccines, variants and more.&nbsp;That year, Generator Z Future&nbsp;launched, creating a safe space for teens to share their stories and reimagine their worlds. From this, and extraordinary piece of history emerged —&nbsp; of what it meant to be a teenager during such a time in history.&nbsp; Process: For this publication, I was recruited by my former professor and owner of Good Done Daily, Andy Kopietz to create collage graphics for the half of the chapters that had yet to be completed. Using inspiration from the exisitng chapters, I created a complimenting collage style that used self curated &amp; youth submitted illustrations. The process of this publication was truly a treat because I had the opportunity to work within guidelines of exisiting content, but also explore and push the boundaries of what was expected of me.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Takeaways: This project is definitely at the top of my list based on the impact that it is going to have. Z to Z will be available for checkout across libraries in Southeast Michigan and Western New York, available for teens to check out &amp; experience. identity, interface design, product design, web design) Content: Where is Sioux Falls? I’ll tell you, I didn’t know until this 826 branding project. This project consisted of designing a complete brand system based upon a random city. This project brought an array of different platforms to work with, from stationary to storefronts. The mission of 826 Sioux Falls Soul Control is to educate the city on the masking of native mistreatment &amp; allow their souls to rest in serenity. It was important for me to respect native american culture, rather than try and appropriate it. I made sure to speak beside them, rather than for them.&nbsp; Process: The 826 project involved a lot or iterating and making. It was a constant juggle of multiple large files and applying the refined brand assets created. This was the project that made me realize I really enjoyed doing a lot of research and creating the brand’s assets. &nbsp;&nbsp;Takeaways: This project helped me understand how much work truly goes into brand identities and creating assets of a brand. illustration, type in motion, After Effects) Content: "How does the role of class effect the health care you receive &amp; your personal well-being?" An individual's social class has a major impact on the type of health care they are going to receive. Different factors such as location, income, family history and environment will effect one's access to proper health care.&nbsp;I designed an explainer video that has the spirit of a children's doctor's office through its shapes, colors, and typography. Doctors show a tremendous amount of sympathy towards ill children, and I believe that same sympathy should be applied across all genders, races, and ages within health care. Process: The process began by doing heavy research on a topic of your choosing, and then creating a digestible script that explained your topic within 2 minutes. I ended up style framing two strong directions that would have been successful either way. We then styleframed for each part of the script making an anamatic, lastly we moved into animating! Takeaways: The biggest takeaway I had within this project was within After Effects. I was able to accomplish different animations that I wouldn’t have been able to before. I created a lyric video for the 80s hit, Puttin’ On The Ritz by Taco. I chose this song because there is something special to me about artist’s who are very popular for a few years and then kinda disappear from the well-followed celebrity scene. I wanted to envoke a classy &amp; old broadway style lyric video, with light pops of color. I also used a grain texture and footage from the 1920s. With the 1920s being a time of prejudice to anyone who was not a white man, I made sure to obtain footage of a variety of genders &amp; races. &nbsp; Process: Within my research, i discovered the original Puttin’ On The Ritz was from the 1920s and racist. That made me sad with this being my favorite song, but it provided me the opportunity to include members of all genders &amp; races “Puttin’ On The Ritz”. Takeaways: I specifically took the course that briefs this project because it was something I really wanted to do. Gnarly. Rad. This poster series was created around the Bringin’ Back The 80’s Festival that takes place annually in Frakenmuth, MI. The project objectives were to pick any event in Michigan and create a poster series surrounding that event. It was suggested to do the poster series on an event you had attended, but being from Ohio originally; I decided to go with a Michigan event I would really like to attend.&nbsp; Process: The process of this project was a bit different for me. Due to getting COVID, the majority of this project was completed out of my bedroom rather than in a classroom setting. I knew how important it was to still stay on task and complete my work as I would for class time. I will create a deck of cards &amp; an application that aid in personal well-being. Inspired by the tarot’s major arcana and a lens of behaviorial psychology, I will create symbols &amp; weekly prompts. This system has been designed to improve the mental health of others by slowly teaching people to use their devices in smaller increments &amp; to engage in activites outside of the digital world. Process: This project gave me the opportunity to actually plan out a complete timeline from start to finish. I was able to hold to my timeline well aside from some small adjustments. I initially planned on sending out the packaging and cards to be produced by a third party, but i took a stab at doing it myself and I am proud of the outcome. &nbsp;&nbsp;Takeaways: The biggest takeaway I had within this project is understanding that is okay if you can’t execute all of your ideas, it is more important to focus on the most valuable ones, and to do them well. &nbsp; ︎ zine kit containing various pieces including: 3 fold-out graphic zines, 9 stickers, 1 small publication, 1 fold-out zine template, 2 sheets of collage material and instructions. The kit was created for you to be able to truly express yourself and to appreciate and educate you on the work of the Guerrilla Girls. This zine kit was created for those involved in activism and social justice to be informed of the Guerrilla Girls and their mission, share their message to others, and have fun creating your own zine. The zines fold out into posters allowing you to share and hang them up, another feature this kit offers is 9 stickers you can keep or share with the community. Process: The process of this project consisted of intensive moodboarding with revisions during the process. I also originally. had just a zine system, but it was essential to get the audience involved with the project because it is in the spirit of the Guerrilla Girls.&nbsp; Takeways:&nbsp;The takeaways from this project are very inspirational and motivating to find a voice.
